Creativity is one of the 12 attitudes in the PYP framework, so clearly it is viewed as a significant component in the development of children. In Making the PYP Happen (p. 24), creativity is defined as students:
"being creative and imaginative in their thinking and in their approach to problems and dilemmas."
How much are we actually doing to raise creative learners though in our schools and classrooms? How often does it impact big decisions in our programming? What are our own ideas about creativity that may influence this?
These are just a few of the questions this article brought to my mind, so I decided to use the list to a way of checking in on my own practices and approaches. The points in black represent the aspects of my programming and learning environment which are already in place to give students the opportunity to be and become "highly creative people". The points in green reflect new practices that I may enhance or introduce.
